Gus Nichols Library

The Gus Nichols Library is the main library on campus. Nichols Library’s holdings are available online, and the library staff maintains a number of databases providing books, journals and electronic resources. Student computers and work stations are also located throughout the library, and a photocopier is available for student use on the second floor of the library.

Gus Nichols was a long time supporter of Faulkner University, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees. He was a Gospel preacher for over 50 years, and taught many young men to preach. It is appropriate that the library is named for him because he was a great lover of knowledge, and books in particular.

Gus Nichols Library holds over 105,000 volumes, including circulating and reference materials, e-books, multimedia items, and bound periodicals. Access to seventy-plus full-text, abstracted or indexed electronic databases (see library.faulkner.edu) are also available for patron use. Holdings may be searched via the Innopac online catalog; the collection is classified using the Library of Congress classification scheme.

Staffed with five professional librarians and five paraprofessionals, employees are eager to assist you with your research, library instruction, interlibrary loan and curricular needs. Additional services offered include reserves, holds and recalls for high demand items, reciprocal borrowing privileges with neighboring libraries, leisure reading materials, computers throughout the facility with Internet connectivity and equipment needed for photocopy and duplication.

Faulkner is looking to expand its Gus Nichols Library and its other library services substantially in the near future.
