m. b. (pop) myers fine arts center

The sounds of music often can be heard at the Faulkner University Fine Arts Center. It is the home of the only regularly scheduled Dinner Theatre in the Capitol City of Montgomery. There are practice rooms for the chorus and other music classes.

Also located in the Fine Arts Center is the Faulkner University Great Books Honors College. This special program is designed to introduce outstanding students to the world of Great Books, and to encourage them to think as well as read.

M. B. Myers was well known for his love for music and his love for teaching young people to enjoy music. In 1982 the building was built and 2002 it was remodeled to more aesthetically and practically serve Faulkner.

Originally built in 1977 as a student center, converted into a music and theatre building in 1982, the M. B. "Pop" Myers Fine Arts Center underwent a massive $650,000 renovation in 2002 adding needed classroom space, a choral hall, a new lobby, and a renovated theatre auditorium.

This building is the home of the Great Books, Music, and Theatre programs of the English and Fine Arts Department of the College of Arts and Sciences. Since 1987, it has also been the home of the critically acclaimed Faulkner University Dinner Theatre, one of the favorite Montgomery sites enjoyed by tourists and locals alike. Music practice rooms, faculty offices for Great Books, Music, and Theatre, and the Dinner Theatre box office are also located in this building.
