Sample Schedule

Your schedule will vary Sunday through Friday based on your assigned instructor. The following schedule is a sample that will provide you information on the classes that will be conducted, activities that will take place, and information that will be gleaned from this class. Please note that the President's Reception and the Dinner Theater will require Sunday dress. All other activities will follow the university's dress code.

Saturday, Aug. 8
Time Activity Notes
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Move-In Day for those students who will be living on campus It's move-in day. Bring your trailers, your trucks, your vans and everything you will need!
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Welcome Reception Bring your family and join us in the multiplex gym for a welcome reception. Off campus students will begin their experience at this time.
6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Meet your instructor Join your instructor and meet your classmates.
7:30 p.m. - ??? Student/Mentor Night Out Your mentors will lead you into the fun world of college social life, taking you out for the evening.

Sunday, August 9

8:00 a.m. Breakfast in the cafeteria Don't miss out.
9:00 a.m. Worship Services at area congregations. Times will vary by congregation.
12:01 p.m. Lunch Lunch
1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Live Text and Campus Toolkit training Assigned computer labs
3:00 p.m. Making College Count Sponsored by Monster.com, this exciting presentation will kick off our week of activities.
4:00 p.m Dinner Pick up your box lunch immediately following the Making College Count program. It's from Jason's Deli, so don't miss out.
10:30 p.m. Devotional

Monday, August 10

7 a.m. Rise and shine. You are off to the ropes course! Don't miss out. Busses leave at 7:30 a.m.
3:00 p.m. Return from the ropes course.
6:00 p.m. Stevi B's for dinner & a movie at the Rave Motion Picture Theater.

Tuesday, August 11

8:00 a.m. Breakfast Don't be late. Devo begins at 8:45.
9:00 a.m. Classtime What is Faulkner? What is character education? What is Faith and the Academy? How do these topics apply to me?
10:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Inventories--Learning styles, personality, career assessment Think you know who you really are? Find out what your inner self is really thinking!
1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. Class Time Discuss results of inventories
2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Break time/Practice time for athletes
6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Dinner Theater It's time to dress yourself up and see one of the award winning presentations from Faulkner's own Dinner Theater. This year's presentation is "Schoolhouse Rock"

Wednesday, August 12

Meet with faculty from every department. Discuss majors, job opportunities and internship availability.
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. President's Reception Time to dress up again and join President Hilyer for food and introductions to his administrative cabinet.
10:30 p.m. Devotional Girls--meet in Davis dorm
