Kristi Deason Hagood joined the faculty of Jones School of Law as an Assistant Professor in 2008.  Professor Hagood teaches Legal Research and Writing.

 

After graduating from Birmingham-Southern College, Professor Hagood attended the University of Alabama School of Law.  While in law school, Professor Hagood was the brief writer for the 1999-2000 Jessup International Law Moot Court Team, a member of the Moot Court Board, a member of the Order of the Barristers, a recipient of the Oral Advocacy Award for the First Year Moot Court Competitoin, and a recipient of the Alabama Public Interest Law Association Summer Grant.

 

After graduating law school, from 2000 until 2002, Professor Hagood worked in the criminal appeals and capital litigation divisions of the Alabama Attorney General's Office, where she was responsible for criminal appellate litigation in state and federal courts.  From 2003 to 2006, Professor Hagood worked in the criminal division of the Louisiana Attorney General's Office, where she was responsible for both trial and appellate litigation in state courts.  From 2006 to 2008, Professor Hagood worked as a research attorney at the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal in Shreveport, Louisiana.

 

Professor Hagood has been admitted to practice law in Alabama and Louisiana.  Professor Hagood is a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Junior League of Montgomery, and the Montgomery-Autauga-Elmore Medical Alliance.
