Schedule of Activities

Week One (Jan. 10) Introduction to class

Week Two (Jan. 17) 1,5, and 20 year goals

Week Three (Jan. 24) A 1 page essay that discusses the history and role of professionals in the shaping communication (honors thesis or published article analyzing same ideal may be substituted)

Week Four (Jan. 31) Bring at least one copy of published article which deals with local (may include university level or above), state or national issue

Week Five (Feb. 7) Bring at least one published article that deals with diversity

Week Six (Feb. 14) Reference letter from internship supervisor that discusses students work ethic. Bring if possible

Week Seven (Feb. 21) Bring six published articles that you may want to use in your portfolio

Week Eight   (Feb. 28) Write a letter evaluating three of the six articles from the previous week

Week Nine (Mar. 7) Bring at least one published article that deals with statistical information

Week Ten (Mar. 14) Bring at least two pages where you have done all of the layout work

Week Eleven (Mar. 21) Putting a portfolio together

Week Twelve (Mar. 28) SPRING BREAK !!!!!!!

Week Thirteen (Apr. 4) Individual Conferences

Week Fifteen   (Apr. 11) Portfolio due for outside review

Week Sixteen  Apr. 28) Final Class
