Candidate Performance Data
The Basic Skills Assessments measure fundamental skills all prospective educators must possess in the areas of Mathematics, Reading, and Writing. These assessments are administered as part of the ACT WorkKeys System. Our overall pass rate for candidates entering the Teacher Education Program in the 2011-2012 academic year was 100 percent.
The subject assessments consist of select Alabama State Board of Education approved tests from the Praxis II: Subject Assessment series that are administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The tests measure subject-specific content knowledge needed by beginning teachers. The National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) requires that programs maintain a minimum of an 80% pass rate. Our overall pass rate in the 2011-2012 academic year for program completers was 100 percent.
