Lecturehip Honoree: Raymond Elliott

           Raymond Elliott graduated from Faulkner
University in 1958. He married the former Virginia
Slaughter in 1955. They have  been married 53
years and have four children and nine grandchildren.

Raymond has preached full-time since his
graduation, mostly in south Alabama, including
16.5 years at Prattville. He currently lives in Prattville
while preaching regularly by appointment.

He has served on the Board of Regents of
Amridge University for 35 years, including a five year
term as chairman during their transition from the
Landmark building to the present campus near AUM.
He currently serves as vice-chairman. He is a friend
and supporter of Christian Education generally,
including Faulkner, and of other good works as well,
especially of Wiregrass Christian Camp.

If you know him personally you know him as a
“prince of a fellow.” He loves the Lord. He loves the
church and cares personally for her members. He
loves the truth, encourages those who preach it, and
with sadness and love corrects those who pervert or
contradict it.

He is a hunter and loves the outdoors. He will
regale you with tales, both true and obviously
embellished, of turkey and deer hunting.

He is a delight to be around and it will be a delight
to honor him during this 2009 Faulkner University Bible
Lectureship.
