The Social and Behavioral Science Department offers course work that provides a strong foundation and stimulus for the meaningful and well-rounded development of the individual as a participating and contributing member of society. Specific disciplines offer areas of concentration to help students acquire knowledge and develop ideas, attitudes, and skills which not only provide a sound basis for appreciation of peoples and cultures, but serve to prepare the graduate for employment in many fields. Specific majors are offered in History, Psychology, and Marriage and Family Therapy as well as more general Liberal Arts majors with concentrations in Political Science and Sociology. In addition, in cooperation with Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, a pre-law curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts has been designed to promote an ethical, social and environmental conscience in addition to strengthening one's potential for becoming a successful law school student.
