FUNDAMENTALS OF READING AND WRITING I
Fundamentals and Reading and Writing I is one of two institutional credit courses Faulkner University offers to students who need to refine composition skills before they are allowed to attempt English Composition I or II. The foundation of this course is the revision process; students begin at the paragraph level and then proceed to shorter essays before submitting a final portfolio for a majority of their grade. A great deal of emphasis is put on specificity and effective development of one's composition. Students will also participate in a number of exercises to hone common rhetorical techniques. Weekly sessions in the Writing Center are required.
