bachelor of arts with secondary education certification

A student majoring in secondary education may choose a the fields of biology, chemistry, general science, history, general social science, English language arts, or mathematics education. Each secondary program includes three components: general studies, professional education, and subject-area courses.

In planning a program in secondary education, the student should work closely with the assigned advisor to meet the requirements for the disciplines chosen. Regardless of subject area concentration, the professional education component remains constant and the general studies components vary slightly.
