Associate Dean of Student Services

Education

B.A., J.D., University of Alabama

Anita Kimbrell Hamlett was named Associate Dean of Student Services in April, 2010.  After earning her J.D. in 1992, Dean Hamlett began her legal career as an associate with Lanier, Ford, Shaver & Payne P.C.  She moved into higher education in 1996 and served as Associate Director of Continuing Legal Education at the University of Alabama School of Law for several years.  Ms. Hamlett is a native of Alabama and committed to serving Alabama's legal community.  She serves of the Chief Justice Professionalism Commission and formerly was the Director of Regulatory Programs with the Alabama State Bar.  She was responsible for developing the Century of Progress program over a decade ago to highlight the accomplishments of African-American attorneys in Alabama.  She has planned public service projects for students of the law school and played and active role in the Alabama State Bar's Celebrate Pro Bono Committee. Dean Hamlett recently accepted an invitation by Cumberland School of Law to address young lawyers at the Mandatory Professionalism Training.  She has a deep commitment to her students.  It has been her goal to expose judges and practicing attorneys to students of Faulkner Law.  Building the mentoring program and offering informational fairs and networking opportunities has been a primary step toward reaching that goal.
