A widespread interest in personal fitness has placed added emphasis on the sciences involved in physical fitness. The physical educator and sports manager link the relationship between anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and physics to everyday fitness and recreation with the goal of enabling society to enjoy the longest, healthiest, most active life possible.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Management at Faulkner offers two separate tracks: traditional teaching certification and non-teaching jobs in the sports/fitness world. The physical education program leads to P.E. certification for grades K-12. The sport management program combines fitness and business to prepare students for administrative, management, and marketing careers in the sports industry. Both degrees offer suitable preparation for health and fitness post graduate programs.
